NYPL Winnie-the-Pooh Print

This illustration is lovingly borrowed from a first edition printing of Winnie-the-Pooh found in the collections of The New York Public Library. First published in 1926, A. A. Milne’s stories about Pooh Bear and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood were brought to life by E. H. Shepard’s whimsical drawings.

The original Winnie-the-Pooh and friends are on display at the Polonsky Exhibition of The New York Public Library’s Treasures.

Archie’s Press was founded by designer and printer Archie Archambault. Their designs are hand printed in the United States using the traditional letterpress printing technique. The image is a raised surface that is pressed into the paper, giving it a deep tactile impression.
